Helping Shepherds of Every Color is a new foster-home based German
Shepherd Rescue organization in Alabama. Established in the spring of 2007, we are a small group of dedicated
individuals with a common goal; we take in
homeless German Shepherds from area shelters and find them new forever homes. While we'd
love to save
them all, unfortunately our network of foster homes is limited. If you feel you have
what it takes to become a foster home for us please, by all means we
want to get to know you. The more volunteers we have, the more worthy
dogs we can save. If
you can assist us in another capacity, we want to hear from you. Please email
us! We're all ears! |

Every dog we are asked to help will be evaluated on
a case by case basis. Our organization will provide needed medical care,
training and rehabilitation to needy GSDs until they are ready for
adoption. All dogs
are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots and heartworm
free by the time they are re-homed.
If you can provide a loving
forever home for one of our adoptable dogs, please complete the Adoption Application.
References and a home visit from one of our volunteers
will be required.
Our adoption fees are- $100 for high-mix
dogs, $125
for seniors and special needs dogs, and $225 for adults and puppies. All fees are applied directly toward the
care, feeding and medical needs of German Shepherd Dogs in our
rescue.

Meet
Lina
Lina
(short for Thumbelina) is a sweet little GSD mix that we decided
to take into our rescue. After all, she can't help who her
parents were. She sort of looks like a pint-sized GSD. She likes
to play and she is very sweet and loving. She is a little
intimidated by big dogs but tries to play with some closer to
her size.
Lina is
working on her being housetrained. She loves to play and she
adores children. If you like GSDs but don't want a big dog, Lina
might be the dog for you. We think she is about 1 year old, and
she has just been spayed and microchipped. She now weighs about
60 lbs, but she isn't as tall as most GSDs. Lina met a neighbor
cat one day on a walk and made friends with him. She is full of
love for everyone.

More and more GSDs find
themselves dumped in
high-kill shelters, through no fault of their own.
Dumped like yesterdays garbage.
Please help us help them.

All
our
efforts to rescue German Shepherd Dogs are dedicated
to the memory of "Jim Beam", a very special GSD who resides forever in our hearts.
Rest in peace
sweet Whiskey Boy. |
